Unlikely. The original "Oracle" is the title for a Greek priestess who could predict the future. The word is thousands of years old. The most famous oracle was at Delphi (which is where Borland's Delphi gets its name and logo from).
If he's using the name "Oracle" to do anything in the software business, then he can get into trouble. But, for instance, if he has a fast food joint named Oracle Fast Food (or something), there's no way customers can confuse it with Oracle Corporation, so that's not infringement (it does not affect Oracle's business). IANAL, and I could be way off. My 2 bits.
